Surviving Christmas

Well, it's over. No more presents. No more holiday cheer. No more Bing Crosby. I can't believe it goes by so fast! It was our first experience on our own and we had such a great time. After waking up super early on Christmas morning, we went over to our friends, Jo and Justin (and new baby Siena!), to have Christmas dinner with 8 other lovely folks. It was a great time with friends and the food was amazing. The boys all played football after the feast and of course all us girls ooh'd and aah'd over baby Siena.

The day after Christmas I was supposed to go into work, but at the last minute sent an email to the team calling in a last minute vacation day. Derek and I had gotten so many gift cards we had to go after-Christmas shopping! The big purchases for the day were Guitar Hero World Tour complete band set, and a new camcorder so we can record ultrasounds and baby in 2009. I'm not sure we got off the couch from Friday afternoon until a party we had to go to Saturday evening. Why is Guitar Hero so addicting!

On Saturday, my boss Heather hosted a Peppermint Twist Holiday Party. It was a gorgeous time, with fabulous food and good company. And the most horribly outrageous Dirty Santa gifts ever exchanged - well, I heard there were a few decent gifts, but I don't think I can say mine was. I won't reveal the gift to spare the giver's feelings.

So now it's already Monday and we are back to work (well, it's lunchtime so I'm technically not working while updating this blog). We still have New Year's Eve to celebrate and let us not forget the OU Championship game!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and enjoy the New Year!

Christmas Eve 2008

It's finally Christmas Eve. I can't believe it. In a mere 12 hours (yes, 12, we wake up early for Christmas) I'll be opening presents! Derek and I decided to stay in LA this year, and while it's different, we've been so lucky to have such amazing friend and family support. The parentals were sure to send boxes of presents to open and my mother even sent stockings full of treats! Tomorrow we will be joining a group of friends to celebrate, eat, drink and be merry.

Since Baby Page is still in my belly, we went a bit overboard on the doggie gifts this year. We stuffed stockings full of toys, treats, chews and more. However, I did notice some presents under the tree for the unborn kid!

I hope everyone has a great Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year!
